New Narratives Scholarship Fund
For writers who feel the pull of a story they've never told, and readers hungry for essays that linger for days, Off Assignment publishes transportive, place-driven writing—and builds a global community around it.
Since 2023, Off Assignment has offered online courses for adult creative writers, bringing together a rare mix of published and emerging voices. We teach across genres and topics, each class led by a writer who has mastered that particular craft. Our Masters' Series courses—which pair rigorous instruction with access to literary luminaries—are the cornerstone of our program.
To mark our 10th anniversary, we're launching the Off Assignment New Narratives Scholarship Fund: an ongoing commitment to giving writers at all levels—including those from communities historically underrepresented in global literature and those just beginning to find their way onto the page—access to OA’s courses and community to help them thrive. A gift of any size would mean the world to an emerging writer.
